Sad, Angry, and Afraid

I was getting ready to write about the demands of self-sacrificing love that Jesus, after he rose from the dead, pressed on Simon Peter in a confrontation by the Sea of Tiberias. (See John 21.)

But then I got the news of the mass killing of school children at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.

With that, my head is pounding with naming what I feel: sad, angry, and afraid.

So, I will post here only the three urgings of the self-sacrificing love Jesus pressed on Simon Peter in John 21, and write nothing more for today.

Feed my lambs.
Shepherd my sheep.
Feed my sheep.
